QR code payments are increasingly popular payment method, needing only a quick scan to initiate a transaction. Thanks to the ease and accessibility of smartphones, the global QR code payment market is projected to grow 59% between 2023 and 2028.

How to set up a QR code

A website opens up, on which your customer can enter the amount owed and their card details.

Your customer can either show you their success screen to confirm the payment, or you can check your sales history in the Octalas Pay App.


General Questions
In the list of your created QR codes, select the the QR code you would like to print and choose “QR code for shop display”.
You’ll see a preview of your display as a PDF. Select the share button to either print the display on a printer connected to your phone or send the display via email to print it from a computer.

In the list of your created QR codes, select the code you’d like to use.
In the action sheet choose “QR Code”.
You can now send the file to the device you want to use to create your design.
Once a customer has scanned a QR code, a checkout page opens – here the customer can enter the amount owed and complete the payment. They’ll see a success screen which displays the amount paid and the current time, so that you can verify the payment.
You can accept any credit or debit card that displays a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, or Union Pay logo. We’ll add more payment methods in the future.
You can use the same QR code to accept an unlimited number of payments. QR codes are active until you delete them from your list of created QR codes. You can also use the same QR code in several places at your business. For example, at every table or seat, on your counter, in your shop window. It’s up to you to see what works best for your business.
To send a receipt, open your sales history in the Octalas App, then select the respective transaction and tap on the extended menu. From there, you can send the receipt to your customer via email or messaging.
